TEAM#UP Steering Committee Meets in Norway to Advance Nature Restoration Education

14 Oct 2025

The TEAM#UP Steering Committee recently convened at Vea Green School, Norway, bringing together experts and educators from Norway, Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic.

Over several days, the TEAM#UP Steering Committee engaged in professional presentations, discussions, and strategic planning sessions that will shape the next phase of TEAM#UP. In addition to these productive meetings, participants had the unique opportunity to experience restoration projects firsthand. They visited the Sollia bog in Stange, learning about peatland restoration and its critical role in carbon storage and ecosystem health, and explored the flower meadow fields at Vea, where they observed habitat enhancement for pollinators and native flora.

These immersive experiences provided a tangible connection between theory and practice, allowing committee members to exchange insights on effective educational strategies to communicate unique restoration techniques. The collaborative environment fostered new ideas for integrating hands-on restoration work into educational curricula, ensuring that future ecologists and conservationists are well-prepared to address pressing environmental challenges.

The Steering Committee meeting represents a key milestone in TEAM#UP’s mission to bridge research, education, and practical conservation. By fostering cross-border collaboration, the project strengthens the capacity of participating institutions to deliver high-quality, applied restoration education while promoting biodiversity and sustainable land management across Europe.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all participants for their dedication, engagement, and shared commitment to nature restoration. Your efforts continue to drive TEAM#UP toward a greener, more biodiverse future.

Stay tuned for upcoming educational resources, field courses, and collaborative opportunities from TEAM#UP as the project continues to grow and inspire the next generation of restoration ecologists.
